Hey whatz up everyone. I was wondering if I shoudl get an By-pass valve for my CAI. I am having doubts on whether I should purchase it. If I should what company would I be able to purchase it from. Thanks

AEM makes a universal fit unit (just order the size you need).

I can't really comment if you should have one a Max CAI (I have a Weapon R) so ask the guys that have installed one what they think. But, I would consider it cheap insurance.

Really its probably not necessary for an OSCAI. But get it if you're nervous... piece of mind is quite valueable.

how much does it cost to get an AEM bypast valve?? neone ever install one??

i just checked on the site.. are those universal?? because the ones i just checked.. they dont make them for the 2000+ maximas...

Yeah they're universal.. I believe they are available up to 3" in diameter. Sorry no price or part numbers.

how does that lil thing work?? does it just trap water going through that groove?

SCC just did an article on it. The owner of AEM put on on his NSX and they ran it with the filter completely submerged for quite a while.

Basically when water comes up the tube, there is added pressure and thats when the valve comes open and sucks in air from the valve rather than the bottom of the intake.

I'm getting a PR CAI soon. Does anyone know what diameter for AEM Air Bypass Valve is best for PR CAI?
