Anybody heard about this new product from Stillen? I just got my new Stillen catalog in the mail yesterday, and it mentions a new air/fuel management computer for our Maxima's, the VQ-PRO. I'm going to have to call Stillen and find out about this comp, how much it costs, what level of tuning it allows, and what kind of HP it could unlock.
S-AFCII gives you better control, no need of no laptops, you can swap out to a diff MAF and conpensate for larger injectors- just need to know how to set it up. Larger MAF and injectors do not do anything by themselfs, when U go turbo you will Max the **** out of the stock injectors and MAF. I run a S-AFCII on my G20 with 5 bar of fuel pressure on 370cc injectors using a Twin Turbo Z MAF, works like a charm, A/F is in check throught the whole RPM band even on a T4 turbo like mine...

I hopping for around 450WHP-500WHP, its a BBird U13 motor, its has some Greddy rocker arm stoppers and Tomei 272 cams- yet to be installed. I need to swap out the ECU to a BBird ECU and pop in the 555cc injectors and run 4 bar on them. The manifold alone should give me better spool up with a larger turbo, and more room under the hood

Actually I run UK Primera GT cams in the motor, with S-AFCII and wideband, some crappy cone filter- Tenzo R I think, HKS Racing bypass valve (stocker was leaking), stock 93 G20 ECU, Serbans old ACT PPlate and AutoZone clutch disk (gotta love my FL homies), 3" exhaust from turbo back with no mufflers, 2.22" IC piping from Home Depot, 200 dollar Ebay Intercooler, Walbro with stock leaking FPR pushing almost 5 bar haha
Fish bowl boost controller from Pet Smart pushing 14psi it made 265WHP. There is about hmm 2K dollars into the car in go fast mods including a JDM SR20DET, my own labor, and 800 bux for the car from Ebay. Me and my brother are co-owners of the car, I can't drive 3 cars at a time. I pretty much paid for everything thou. And I have a load of parts to be installed on the car right now, I'm hopping to run 10s in it as it sits begining next season or if the tranny holds up- end of this month. I'm switching to a P11 VLSD tranny which is alot stronger than the P10 tranny or B13/B14. Don't wanna pay 2 gees for PAR.

There has been some talk about smt6 vs the SAFC at altimas.net. I think we decided the smt6 is better if you can get it custom tuned. That was the major advantage of going with the smt6 over the SAFC was that you can get it custom tuned.

S-AFC is custom tunned also, it doesn't come preprogrammed. I always tune my car on the street, where the car is rolln and I get the REAL WORLD results. I remember some guy gained quite alot on his AUTO 3.5L Altima from headers, exhaust and intake tunned with the SMT6. I'm sure you can gain the same power with the S-AFCII. Everytime I dyno my car it has perfect A/F when it hits the dyno. Why ? cause I tunned it on the street with my wideband. Then the dyno operator folks usually stare at me like I'm some kinda weird *** ****... truth is, no one in IL knows how to tune a Nissan right. I just pay to see what the car makes, and not to tune it. Last time my friend took the 240SX I build for him to the dyno they blew his engine up cause they didnt plug in the timing harness to the eManage and it fried his ring lands from detonation. 300 bux to tune it ehh ? and flat bed it home..... thanx but no thanx. Shop that did this is probably one of the biggest EVO tunners out there.... located in IL.
No you can't, I don't remember if the SMT6 can eighter... but I doubt it. eManage is the only piggy back that with the addition of a ignition timing harness will be able to controll timing.

It means, it can intercept the INPUT to the stock ECU, ie the only way to know how fast the engine is going, so it can adjust that signal to fool the stock ECU into firing the coils earlier or later.
eManage/J&S can only intercept the OUTPUT from the stock ECU to the ignition coils, therefore they can only retard. However, it is possible for the eManage to "guess" when the next ignition pulse would be sent by the ECU and send the signal early for advance. I'm still not convinced, but whatever.
