....how are the blacks "90's" when they are off of 2000-2001 cars?

anyhow..I like the black tails on dark maximas, the silver ones on lighter colored maximas, and the GLE tails not at all

Yeah, I've had mine for over 2 years but for some reason it never occurred to me to do it till now... just realized how much better it looks blacked out around the tails than the chromey stuff I have...

I like the black on the black and blue cars, but the chromies are much better on the lighter colored cars IMO.

MUCH much better...then again I'm biased.

I think the clears look okay on a White/Silver color, but no others.

I wouldn't say so, especially if you have tinted windows:

Although it's a photochop, that's what I'm trying to do with mine

I'm interested... but lemme find out how interchangeable they are in terms of wiring and stuff.... do ya have any idea?

Also, what's the farthest north you'd be willing to drive? I'm in Northern VA... I think the best thing would be if we could meet up somewhere so that neither of us would have to go w/o tails for any period of time.... I need my car everyday...

Straight up swap..

You got to disconnect the bulb harness though... not the bulbs.

the bulbs go with the lenses, so you leave the bulbs in and disconnect the big white plug that the bulb wires run into.

then when you swap, you plug the harness back in...

EASY !!!

I've thought about doing this as well, but will probably just purchase some off ebay so I can keep my 2K2 tails.

Tails going from a 2k2 to a 2k1 need the whole wiring harness, but tails going from a 2k1 to a 2k2 you can just unplug the bulbs right?

Nope. When you switch tails either way, keep the bulb socket/harness with the appropriate tail.

I'm another member of the anti 5.5 gen tails club

Since I've changed them everyone I know noticed the difference and loved the black/carbon fibre look. I think they only look good on light colors if you also have tints & black headlights to match.

yeah, I'm willing to meet you half way. Sunday's are best for me... no work/school/internship on sunday. just pm me or something and we'll work it out.

BTW, to those who have done the swap: do you need to heat anything up (sealant or anything) to get the tails off?

Thanks
