Brake question by a "new do it yourselfer"
Brake question by a "new do it yourselfer"
I have a decision to make as far as brands go for new pads and rotors (front and back) for my 2000 Max. There is Duralast, Bendix, Raybestos, Brembo and others. Are there much differences? I am looking to just get standard, non-drilled/slotted, rotors. Any advice as a far as stores (AutoZone, Advance, O'Reilly) or websites is much appreciated. Thanks.

I've seen superb performance with Axxis (PBR) pads, e.g. Metal Masters. I understand their Ultimates are also very good. If you're looking for excellent braking, I'd buy those pads with any rotors you want. I bought the pads at http://www.importrp.com/
PS- These pads are rather hard on the rotors, in that they score the rotors pretty well (produce grooves on the surface). This doesn't have anything to do with warpage though, AFAIK.
