Finally got around to doing a permanent install of my Delphi SkyFi XM Radio. I hated how much space the cradle took up, so I took it apart and just used the connection (still visible at the lower left of the unit unfortunately). I also painted it black in hopes to blend it in a little better. I still need to do a little clean-up, but here's a couple pics.

looks good. How is it wired to the Bose? Are you hardwired into the antenna line or using a free-air FM modulator?

QMax, it's custom because 1. it's painted black and 2. he set up a custom mounting bracket.

I hear that. I installed the whole setup in my fiance's Highlander this summer and she loves it. We also got the boombox which she listens to at her office all day. It's much easier than swapping CDs or choosing from a few regular radio stations.

We went on a few road trips and it's great. I especially love the comedy station (channel 150 I think) which just continuously plays clips from stand up acts (uncut/unedited).

When I first heard of satellite radio I thought the same thing - why the heck should I pay $10 for RADIO?? I look at it this way - it's cheaper than buying 1 CD a month. IMHO, it's only worth it if you utilize it at home/office in addition to your vehicle (unless you're on the road for your job)

The blacked out face looks slick - maybe cut out a 1/2" strip of black plastic and run it along the bottom to conceal the wires.

I'ts a hardwired FM Modulator, It's better than the tape adapter I was using previously.

I like the XM antenna on top of the rear window. It almost looks like the cool shark-fin BMW, Mercedes, Audi antennas.
