Help! California Spec car?, need O2 sensor
Ok,
I guess the only stupid question is the one you don't ask.
So here goes, I need to replace the rear O2 Sensor, so I went to Oxygensensors.com and found my car the 2000 Max Se, but I don't know whether my car is California or not, I bought it is VA, Frankencar site says if you have 4 o2 sensor connectors behind the radiator, you have California Spec, I do have 4 connectors behind the radiator, but I though my car was non california. The ysay 2 sensors is a fed spec car.
How would I know what it is? I gather that California spec cars have a 3rd oxygen sesor behind the catalytic converter, I haven't looked yet.
I want to get rid of the SES light, and I have noticed the mileage dropping. I pulled the codes, got a P0138 and a P0140. So I know the O2 Sensor is bad.
Thanks for your help,
Don Strawsburg

Go to the main 5th gen forum page, go to Stickies, go to FAQs, look under Exhaust, and you'll see "Cali vs Fed Spec...", click on that link and you'll see a good explanation there...
To answer your question simply, yes, it sounds like its Cali spec...
Hope that helps...
