2000-2003 Maxima CLEAR Taillights

Has anybody had any experience, either legal-wize or cosmetic-wize, with completely clear taillights? Click on the url below for pics. Also, wouldn't you want to use those POLARG bulbs that look clear/silver when they are unlit and then amber or red when lit?

legally: you need red reflectors and color bulbs. if a cop is in a bad mood, he'll probably give you a ticket

Did you have a chance to look at the tails in the original post? According to your info they can't be street legal can they?

no, they are not legal (btw, they are not DOT approved AFAIK). but front tinted windows and clear side markers with white/blue light bulbs are illegal in most of the states too. doesn't mean nobody does it

Has anyone seen the black clears? What if you painted the big roudn red.

I love how it would look since it is the housing that is black not like the SE tails from 2000-2001..

The OEM lights look so much better. I'd never waste money on those to replace what is already on my car.
