I don't know why you would want to get rid of the stock '02 ****. I think it's awesome. It appears to me to be very similar to the ***** on R-34's.

Now that I'm really looking at it, I don't know what I was thinking. I was looking at interior mods trying to decide on something simple and cheap to do, thats why. I just wish that the AE door sils weren't so much, especially since they wouldn't be seen all that much. Any suggestions for around $50?

Hey! Is that the black Momo sphere? Does it fit okay? I mean... does it affect the reverse lock ring in any way? I've been meaning to get one, but couldn't find anyone with one to check it out... it looks good in your car... I was thinking about the same **** but wasn't sure if the collar at the base would interfere with the reverse ring....

Although now that I look at it again... seems kinda large.... hmmm....

did we figure out how to get around the reverse release on the 6-spd if we added another aftermarket ****? still waiting on the short shifter and see if it will come through for us.

I hope one is produced soon. I might consider an aftermarket **** then.

I don't think we can really "get around" it... not sure what you mean there... but there is one MOMO **** that gives allowance for the reverse ring...

Here's a picture of the regular version, but they supposedly have one without the lower "MOMO" trim ring to allow room for the reverse ring...

The link is here http://www.cardomain.com/item/MOMALUAIRR

If anyone knows any other shift ***** that have worked with their 6 speeds ... please post....

man in that case i need to come up with something to do away with that. i like the stock, but would be nice to be able to replace it. guess i'm gonna have to duct tape the reverse ring....lol......duct tape solves all problems....:-)

Actually, by looking at crispykid717's picture... it seems that even if its a reg MOMO ****, there is sufficient room for the reverse ring to travel.... his **** has the lower trim collar... I mean, it obviously works, that's why its on there, but I'm still curious to see if he has anything to say about that...

does that look a little taller than stock to you? the **** on his max is pretty short as it is compared to the other ***** Momo offers. I hope if I added a different type ie...Phantom or Shadow, the height stays around the same.

I can't seem to find my measuring tape... but if you could find out the stock shift **** height and post it... that might help us compare... the MOMO Sphere pictured is 3.3" tall and the Shadow is 4" tall... see how that compares to your measurement of the stock ****...

Btw, if you go to amazon.com, do a search for "MOMO" and look under "Tools and Hardware" (don't ask me why) you'll find a good number of shift ***** there with the dimensions and weight.... good info if ya ask me... I wonder why other websites can't post dimensions as well....

I just noticed most of the MOMO product descriptions on Amazon saying "It is not recommended for use on cars with lift type reverse lock outs directly under the shift ****."

But hey, if krispykid over here got it to work... I don't see why not...

Maybe its the clearance for the reverse ring I was talkin about initially... so its not so much the height that matters.. but how far down the shifter the **** goes... certain ***** might not allow enough room for you to raise the reverse ring enough to put it in gear... I've no experience with this, but I'd think this is a possible issue...

Click on the link I posted earlier to the Car Domain Store, and then look for ones which say "Automatic Transmission"....

And that site isn't exhaustive either... there are tons of other aftermarket sites on the web with auto shift *****...

yeah but if they are for automatic transmission doesn't that mean that they'll have the button on them?

I believe that there are some on there with a button.... like so:

But I think that with auto shift *****, you have a much more limited selection to pick from...

Take your word for it... I have no idea... I assume the 02s are the same? And the 00-01s have a button?

Ah... gotta love my 6 speed...

Although, we have this reverse ring issue with aftermarket shift *****...

i know there is no button. that's why i was asking. because a regular auto shifter would have a button and we need one without one.

If there's no button then you could probably just screw on one of those MT ***** right? I would think that ya can.... as long as the shift shaft is around 14-15mm...

The **** I have fits perfect. No problems lifting that reverse ring at all. The **** is weighted perfect too. Shifting feels so good with it. I could not be happier with this ****. Def worth the $$. I used to have a ****, http://www.cardomain.com/item/MOMF16ECBN ,
that was taller than the one I have now. I had it on for an hour and took it off I hated it. Like I said, the one I have now is perfect.
