This is just a thought, but I was wondering if I bought a Maxima late this year, early next year, would I be able to walk out the door paying less than 20k? I've heard of Maximas being generously discounted especially at year-end sales. Is this realistic?
Also, as a side note, is it worth getting the optional Comfort and Convenience package?

Yeah, I would definitely be getting a 5spd if I bought one. I'm just counting on luck/desperation of Nissan dealers wanting to clear their lots for 2002 Maximas.

Well, with the new Altimas coming out mid-September, you will have more to bargin with. The new 2002 Altima will be a Maxima killer. At least until they beef-up the 5th gen Maxima.
