Custom grille is DONE! (56k = rot in hell)

I'm not quite done with this yet. There are still some white spots that I'm going to have to fill in. Nothing too noticeable and I purposely put the new emblem over the old one. I think two rings look pretty hot...looks almost like a planet. :P

Sorry dude but I hate it. The 2 emblems are ghetto. It is like creating your own Nissan emblem. Almost as bad as somebody taking a sharpie and writing "Type R" on their chicken fence grill. Also the paint job is terrible and I can see the glue you used to put together the plastic.

Sorry for being a little rough but I think you ruined a perfectly good grill.

I hate being "that guy" in a thread

That's nice. Except I didn't glue them, so I didn't ruin the grille. I've already taken them off twice, because I used double sided tape. And uh, as far as you seeing the tape:

There are still some white spots that I'm going to have to fill in.
So, as you can see, I'm not quite the moron you think I am.

But I'll give the paint thing, because I know it came out messy. I'm going to re-do them and use a brush this time around. Spray creates gunk.

It looks good, but you need to repaint it... and try and match it to your car color if it's possible?

I give you credit for creativity, but i think you will get it perfect.

like the idea and the grill, but not too big on the monster-sized nissan emblem though. Maybe you should black out the emblem...that would look good

sorry again. I came off very harsh - definately not intended. I never meant you were a moron, I just don't like the grill.. I give you credit for trying something new though. BTW: I like different things so I am not hating because you are trying to be different (like most people would).

Mark

Again - didn't mean to attack you. We Cool?

Matt: What do you mean by flush?
does the large emblem sit right up against the grill? or is there a gap?

MGJ: I'm going for the darker look. I'm even getting the AE headlights to match these. The project started off silver, but I changed colors. I'm still working on it, I just wanted to put it on and see how it looks. I will be re-painting though for sure, and this time, with a brush.

Irish: The emblem is smaller than the 02/03 grille emblem. And yep, I am painting it black too.

Polak: Yep, I know. But that's completely fixed now. Will post more pics tomorrow. I removed the old emblem and put the new one on level with the strips. Looks much better.

MDLoops: We're cool. Just know one thing, I'm a perfectionist and I myself am not too happy with this yet and will continue to work on it. I'm actually working on ANOTHER grille project and that involves polished aluminum (same color as stock 02/03 grille). I'm getting that cut into the needed pieces on Wed. by a relative of mine and will then post pics of those.

Matt: There's a gap, which sucks. But it's only noticeable when you look above the emblem. Otherwise, it looks sharp as hell.

I really appreciate all of this feedback. I obviously cannot perfect this without you guys. Thanks, fellas. =)

I'm going to post pics of the slightly altered look tomorrow. The emblem is now sitting by itself and a bit lower -- evenly with the strips.

I think the grill in the before pic looks better.

What's with the bumper cover corner protectors? They're not even with each other....

I think it looks pretty good man. Good job.

Are you thinking of doing the AE mod to the lights?
I definitely want to do it. Let me know.
