wheel alignment?

I know this car 101 but I'm no expert, just wanted to know that if a wheel alignment will get my car to go straight again? Because over the past few weeks I've been noticing my car veering over to the left and its gottin a little worse. I checked my tires and air pressure and they seem fine, I didn't hit any curbs. Could it be anything else beside a wheel alignment? Just wanted to know before I take it to the shop.

Thanks.

Do the alignment and have them check your tires out. If you've purchased aftermarket tires and had them installed at a national chain, you may have a lifetime warrenty on the balacing and rotation. I'd take it there and have them do all four at the same time.

I got four new tires at Costco (Bridgestone Turanza LS-H). Then a wheel alignment at a Firestone store. My car was veering to the right. I went back to Firestone to get the alignment checked, and they said it was okay. THen they switched the two front tires, and my car goes straight again. My tires are not directional, so I don't know why switching them would make a difference.

I could be wrong, but I believe that almost all new tires are directional due to their belts. I've heard that if you switch the rotation, it can cause a pull. Keep in mind I heard this at a NTB so take it as you like...

Could be a bad tire, could be your toe is off. I would recommend looking into an alignment, cheap insurance to stop any prolonged tire wear....
