i seriously doubt you have enough buildup if any at all to make any of that worth the while. wait til you get more miles on the odometer and run some BG44k or chevron techron fuel system cleaner. cleaning the throttle body is a no brainer and can be done whenever you want but again, i doubt there is much of anything in there with 15k miles.

when do you actually clean the throttle body, and when do you use GB44K? 30000 miles?

I totally forgot about this, and 30000 miles is creeping up on me soon...

if you change the air filter on a regular basis then it takes a while to accumalate. first time i ran chevron techron was right before 30k and same for the cleaning the throttle body. since ive had an intake for a while, the tb tends to get dirtier quicker than with the stock box. more stuff may be getting through but im pretty trusting of k&n and i change my oil on regular intervals. it definetely wouldnt hurt to take a peek since its very easy to do.

Massimo, I took my TB apart & cleaned it at 25k miles -when I removed then re-installed the IM restrictor- and my TB was very, very clean, even with a K&N filter so.....there is really no need to do this until u are past 30k miles.....

U can do the TB yourself, then get a can of GB44k for the injectors proper and call this good.

I did the fuel injector service, throttle body cleaning, Motul synthetic oil change and other services.

I had 45K kilometers on the car. My car suffered from severe power loss..hesitation, i couldnt even accelerate unlesss i downshifted gears.

After the service, all power restored, no hesitation.. Best money i spent.

then I intalled a intake on 02 max with only 13,187 MI last week and I open up the TB plate, I saw really thick Carbon build up, but I did not have the proper cheaner.

So yea, carbon could build really fast in the TB,

[B]Is there a writeup on how to take the TB apart and clean it? I have 94,000 on my 00 and I haven't cleaned it yet. Everything seems to run fine for now, but I want to take care of the problem before it get bad and where can I get some GB44K from?

sooner fan was the first, i think, who took apart the TB. others have done it and were visited by SES. i refuse to take it apart. i clean it every 5k, but just the part i can access. i do spray a lot, and i am sure it loosens up the carbon from the ends of other side..

Engine flush = b.s. scam service. No manufacturer that I know of recommends any sort of "engine flush." The places like Midas that sell you an "engine flush", basically they are chargin you to dump a can of additive in your oil. Not only does it decrease the efficiency of your oil, it can cause serious damage to the micro-tolerances in your VQ -- think sand in a ball bearing.

Fuel injection service: I usually recommend around every 30k using BG44k Injector Flush kit (a pressurized container of injector cleaner that your car runs through the injectors.) If you use good quality gas you might not notice any difference at all.

Air filter: Every 15k (if you use the stock filters) -- they can look clean but have reduced flow.

Throttle body: Every 30k or so. Remove the rubber intake boot/MAF assembly fro the throttle body. Use Gumout Throttle Body Cleaner or similar, and a soft rag, and wipe the gunk down. You have a 2k3, do not attempt to force the throttle valve wide open, you can bend the shaft.

Induction service: Seafoam works great. It's based (like all combustion-chamber cleaners) on two principles: soften the carbon deposits up and then knock them loose with an uncompressible of some sort (in the old, old days we used water or antifreeze.)
30-60k, if you really feel the need to, especially if you don't ever give the engine a good workout, or if you do lots of short trips.

Note that Nissan and most other manufacturers do not recommend injector, induction, or throttle body services. Nissan actively discourages using ANY sort of additive or flush in the systems.
