Question about shift solenoid
I just received the solenoid in the mail from Courtesy and the part number reads : 31940-85X04
The part number on the TSB reads: 31940-85X03
Did Nissan come out with another TSB? Does anyone know what the old shift solenoid part number is? Thanks in advance.

I just got my solenoid and stuff fixed today and....
I got the new part number too! 31940-85X04
But It dose shift like a brand new car. I am impressed!
To answer your question Kev, YES, there is a new TSB out for this but the guy behind the counter did not know where it was and the transmission guy who knew where it was wasn't there. They told me there was a new one when I showed the the old one.

The service invoice that the dealer gave me when they replaced mine states -85X03 as the solenoid part number....hmmmm.....I wonder what the difference is between the two....
i hope it's nothing major. My tranny seems to shift just fine

Y2KevSE,
Why did you purchase outright? How much did it cost? Are you taking this route because of your vb mod?
I've been to two seperate dealers and they say nothing is wrong. I don't want to be towed to the dealer in a few years, out of warranty with a messed up transmission.

The solenoid and TCM can be purchased from Courtesy Nissan for $308.20 and $307.17 (including 25% off), respectively.
I bought the two because Jane and Turbo95Max were afraid that they would've gotten lazy and just swapped the VB instead of the solenoid. Even though I can recalibrate the new VB, they suggested not to do so.
No, it wasn't a warranty item. I will have an extra TCM (100 model) for sale if anyone wants it.

question,
I have already had these and the tranny replaced back in february. Is this a new fix? I have noticed that the tranny doesn't shift the way I think it should. Is this the problem? My dealer is less than forthcoming with info! if you know what I mean!

I'll see what I can do about the pics. Our hands will definitely be dirty, so we'll see if Jane will take pics.
Warning: She is not a good picture taker.
