411 on ca to fed spec conversion

i'm not sure if this is a repost but here goes. for those of you that have a 2k-2k1 max all you need is to buy the fed spec manifold and a fed spec y-pipe. you do NOT need to weld 2 extra o2 bungs after the main cat (you can if you want but it's pointless). just keep the two o2 sensors plugged into the harness and tuck them away with zip ties where there aren't any plastic or anything that cannot take any heat because those two o2 sensors get hot since they are heated o2 sensors. i haven't thrown a light and i've had my car that way for over 500 miles. i just thought it was a nice thing to share =D

How much was the conversion? Isnt it cheaper to get a performance y pipe and just get an o2 simulator to fool the ecu?

I've done that conversion 2 years ago, no performance gains vs cali spec. You need headers to tell a difference on the butt dyno or dynojet.

i changed it because my precats went bad. the dealer quoted me 2800 for pre cats so i thought F that and got me a fed spec y-pipe from warpspeed for 160 and a fed spec manifold for 80 bux at the dealer. getting an o2 simulator costs more money than a zip tie to hold the existing o2 sensors in place. there's really no performance gains that i have read about, it's been done a few times and everyone has confirmed that it has not have any performance gains. however i needed the fed spec front manifold for a project that will take place in the near future =D.
