02-03 Short Throw Shifter

Well, it seems that alot of you or most of you standard equipped maxima owners would prefer a shorter throw. Since we have recently acquired a CNC machine we can assist in helping you guys make this a reality. If anyone wants to help the community out and lives in the san diego area we can take this project on within the next few weeks, and have a product to deliver to you guys within the month.

Let me just say I'm glad you're deciding to take on this project. As you're well aware by now, there's an abundance of demand for this product, myself included.

You might want to post this thread in the West Coast forum: http://forums.maxima.org/forumdisplay.php?f=17

There are plenty of active members up there, and hopefully one of them would be able to jump on this...

Hell yes!!! If you build it he will buy.... I will put down money as soon as testing of the STS if complete !!! I hope if We organize everybody to buy it at the same time we could get maybe a good introductory price?

I would be all over one. Just take your time as beseenwithgreen said. I would just need it for when the tracks open up again. I can see the banging of gears now.....oh yes!!!

it would be easier for us to organize a large introductory purchase anyhow, so a group buy would be better for us all

What would it take to install something like this? Is it a DIY kind of install, or would special tools be required? I'm "handy" but is it something I should leave to a 'real' mechanic?

Very interested but I am not going to get burned like others in the past.
BTW, what price point would this be at?

So what are you looking for now Kloogy? Just wondering cause I still have the pictures of your max's demise as my background...reminds me to love my car before something happens to it.

i am very interested in this. did you post in the west coast forums yet so the people that live near SD can give you a car so you can start testing and manufacturing? and a group deal sounds very good also. quality matters though. and for the people that dont know how hard it is to install it, it is very simple, it is bolted on with. all you have to do to remove it is, unscrew the 2 nuts under the car and 2 nuts in the car and detach the cables and that is all.

The price range of the STS will probably be about $150 when complete.

I've installed about 10 short shifters in Lt1's and stangs.....you should be able to do it yourself....unless the Max is more complicated than I thought.

Is anyone going to answer the install question??

Is this a self-install for a weekend mechanic or will half the interior need to come out??

It's a little early to say, but we will have an awesome introductory offer, especially if it works with both 5th and 6th gens

The more and more you talk about it, the more and more i want it tomorrow. Patience IS a virtue though... right?

Hope I dont' miss out on the GB though. That would suck.

As for the Max's turbo.... wish I had the money!.
