Projector Headlamps Question

For those that have them or may already know, is there any difference in the one's from custommaxima.com and the ones off of ebay other then an difference of almost $100 including the cost of shipping???

And does anybody have any night shots of the lights that they would be so kind enough to show off? I'm asking because i'm considering getting some for my car as a christmas gift

They can't be that bad, surely there has to be somebody who had some positive results with these lights, if not how can custommaxima keep selling them?

You can't put HIDs in them. Well...You can but it'll cause insane glare and everyone will hate you on the road.

Edit: Look at my sig and see what is the ONE item I uninstalled...

OK, so you want to buy those rejector deadlights that "everybody" is selling.
Great idea. Opps, just a few minor details...........they don't work!!!! The light output is terrible, less than stock headlights, very dangerous!! I've been near a Maxima with those "lights", and at first I thought his headlights were just the parking lights!!! Seriously, those lights DO NOT EMIT LIGHT !!! The bulb they use is an H3, which is a fog light bulb, not a much higher output H4 which is found in alot of cars these days. So, go ahead and buy these lights, but, make sure your life insurance premium is paid in full before you drive at night, and have fun

Ok I have had the projectors since april and I like them. The bulbs that come with it are crap, but if you put some xtreme white piaas in them they look a lot better and are a little brighter. They aren't anything like hids because they are halogen bulbs which guess what aren't hids.

If you are getting the projectors because you think they will be like hids then you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

On the other hand if you are getting these for styling, looks, etc and might happen to live in an area where 2k2 hids are stolen a lot the projectors might be a good decision.

Now everyone has there own two cents, we all know this here, and look at all the civic people out there, we all look at things differently. I say this so that it is know that their is a satisfied customer of the projectors.

they dont look that bad... except for those white blobs. I would be worried about the angle eyes, but then again i hope thats not the main reason why people buy the projectors.

Beam pattern is so bad. UGH. I've grown tired of the multi-housing look (projectors, OEM 02/03 HIDs). I can't wait until I get my AE lights.

2muchmax4, can you still see on the road?----I really don't think they are that bad! They sure as hell aren't hids but I didn't pay 500-1000 for them.

not that bad... makes me wanna get some.. i live in philly and definately don't want any HIDs stolen from me.. so my choice was to get regular 02/03 headlights, AE headlights, or these projectors which are convincing....

These lights were nice looking til I installed them, had to modify the lower clip to fit the headlamps, once that was in place I turned them on, WTF with the light pattern.
Adding H3 HIDs made it look sweet, but dam ugly the way the right side was way higher...way higher...I eventually took the lights apart at my bench at work, and found out why, the beam cut off they use is angled in a wierd way, once I ground down the high section and reassembled the light the pattern was better, but now the projectors shake over bumps in NYC, I just gave up on them. Total waste, more than likely do a bi xenon projector conversion and get it over with on the AE lamps on my work bench.
Spend your 200-300 elsewhere by purchasing HIDs for your H4 housings.

I dunno, with the right bulbs they could be pretty vicious...and plus if I don't like'em, i could always sell them to my neighbor who now seems like he's matching me mod 4 mod with his blk 5th gen.

Umm...actually...looking at those two pics: I think that's the same girl. Look carefully at the face -- they're even wearing the same glasses. Same lips, nose, jawline. :|

Hmmm.... interesting point... I can see that too....

Anyways... I've heard nothing but bad things about these CM projectors... as for projectors in general, I know someone with em on his WRX, and lemme just say I hate driving in front of him when he has em on..... but then again, the lights would be in your car....
