man I'd wish someone will post the result to this. but probably not.

I did see a post once that there is a pink wire going to the ecu. put a switch in between and you can turn it on / off. but I never seen a comfirmation on it.

You can use Apexi RSM to remove the speed limiter.

There is no speed limiter on the se. I have taken mine to 142 verified by my gps. All I have is a berk intake ypipe and denso iridium's. Your only limiter are horsepower and arrow dynamics.

that is the most stupid thing i have heard. how much extra did you really pay for the capability to go between the speedlimit and faster then 136? did you pay extre for a "go real fast" option? NO!!
to bad they dont do a common sense check when people buy cars. cause some people dont need to be on the streets.

it doesn't matter what he wants to do with it, he merely wants some information, so calm down, and as far as removing the limiter, any ecu upgrade typically offered (Greddy emanage, Apexi, jet, TS) will remove the speed limiter, and often increase the rev limiter, other than that i'm not sure. 2k-2k1 5 speeds have no limiter......something to think about, neither do 4th gens

listen dude..this is what i meant..the limiter isnt keeping you from passing 136 in a 1/4 mile, its your car. your car would NEVER pass 136 even without a governor. there is no car on here that has a trap speed over about 120.
like i said before..nice try

120 or 130 mph is only a big deal if a cop catches you, if not it's not something a maxima can't handle as long as the driver is comfortalble with that speed...

1. Automatics and 5/6MTs have different top speed due to different final drive ratio and rev limiter settings -- also, old GXEs have lower limiters (108) due to non speed rated tires.
2. What someone does with their car in their own time is their own business. If you want to go fast, do it, it's between you and the cops.
3. Technosquare ECU has customizable limiter

BTW -- as someone who's done 130+ on a stock 2k2 -- the stock suspension really sucks badly at that speed, i would extremely recommend good suspension upgrades before pushing your car to the 100+ limits.

BTW #2 -- trap speed has little or nothing to do with top speed in most cases, because acceleration is a logarithmic curve that levels off as it approaches the limit, meaning it takes longer to hit say 100 to 130 than 0 to 60. Therefore, your trap speed in the 1/8 or 1/4 is not = to your top speed, just a point somewhere on the curve between 0 and top speed. Trap speed = top speed only if the distance being measured is the distance needed to attain top speed.

um only a big deal if a cop catches you? try telling that to someone who lost a loved one because of speeding. I'm SURE they will agree.

If my scanner worked.. I would scan my ticket for doing 126 last year... Stupidest thing I have ever done with my friends, especially on the interstate. Haven't gone over the speed limit since. And I know I will probably be called a loser and what not but I know that I was acting like one and like I said, it was the stupidest thing I have ever done in my life. And the effects were an 8 hour driving class, wreckless driving, and 16 hours community service at the zoo.. So not to fun. At least he wants to use it on the track.

True dat. Like the same thing with drinking and driving.

I will say though that I've done 120 on a highway in a Mustang Cobra, but I don't know if the Max is designed for those speeds like a car with 390hp is...

Wow, this thread got nowhere fast. My question is, where are these people doing these speeds, I normally see people driving 2 handed 10 under the speed limit in the passing lane. You can be in a Max or a Vette, you do something stupid you must suffer the consequenses. There is nothing anyone will say on here that will make everyone happy, kind of like talking politics or religions. If you think someone is driving reckless, pick up your cell and report them, let the cops deal with them. Strange where are the Moderators, can't believe this went on this long. Oh, please if your doing the speed limit and driving with 2 hands, please remove yourself from the passing lane, its called "passing" for a reason. Chris

130MPH in 5spd GXEs, and I have a nasty video to prove it too... dont take too long to get there. Hitting it HARD, I takes about 21 seconds from 60 to 130 in my car and it just goes Boom stop. Let ya know how TS ECU works soon Only takes about 5 seconds from 65MPH to 100 in my ride in 3rd. Only 17" 5spd SE 3.0L do not have speed limiters. Apexi Rev Speed meter removes the speed limiter too, but it threw a check engine light on my car, for vehicle speed sensor.

Try telling anyone tha lost a loved one through any reason, if your loved one died of natural causes would everything be just peachy? Many reasons to go and none are very easy to accept.

I think it is rediculous to jump on someone's case because they ask how to take the speed limiter off their car. Answer the question, or don't post. And it is really only his business if he wants to drive fast. Also the last time I checked, this is a maxima performance forum. It doesn't make sense to spend all this time talking about and making cars fast if you aren't going to drive them fast.

"if speed kills im a dead man" i dont know who said this i saw it on a bumper sticker. imagine being pulled over with that on your car. ha ha ha ha. dont know anything about nissan's governor but in a honda accord it is in the transmission i think. but leave them alone if they wanna go fast. thats the purpose of performance mods am i not correct? you have the right to speed if old people have the right to drive to slow. its the circle of life its expected.
