i tryed to clean the throotle body it looked clean but as sson as i pushed open the little plate thing and inside was a BUnCH of brown/black buildup all over the place, i sprayed some thrrotle body cleaner to clean it but it wouldnt come off, i didnt touch it, but the cleaner did nothing!! what can i do? can i get my throotle body polised ? or can i jsut clean it with sumthing else ? need help and advice please.

 

use a metal brush.... that should break up the hard stuff.

 

you have to use an object, the cleaner will only break it up and not remove it. best way i have found is to wipe down first with a rag. then either spray the buttefrly or spray onto an old toothbrush and get it broken up. then take the rag to it one more time.

 

Watch out cleaning it, you might get that P0507 ses code like I did. I know there is a problem with cleaning throttle body and the 3.5 motor.

 

i cleaned a 3.5 tb as well with no issues or codes.

 

Yeah I love seeing ISC System codes after someone has done a throttle body cleaning and their idle is at 900rpm
Must use CONSULT and perform IDLE Volume Learn, and I think someone has mentioned the pedal method.

Umm... no. You absolutely do NOT want to use a metal brush. A toothbrush, some intake cleaner and a clean rag should be all you need..
