What exactly do coilovers replace, just the springs? So if i was to get coilovers, i would also need new shocks right?

 

springs and shocks not just springs and u can adjust the height unlike ur regular spring +shock setup.

 

Sometimes they also replace the front upper strut mount, bearing, and all those pieces too. Ocassionaly they replace the rear mount too but that's not as common.

 

I'm guessing the pillowmount makes for a better ride so i would be inclined to go for c/o with those. So which is better the JIC A2's, cattman coilovers (which i can't seem to find on the website), or the D2's? I see that tein doesn't have the pillowmount.

 

You're gonna get many different personal opinions about this, both from people who have coilovers and people who don't, so I'm not sure if this is the most productive use of the thread. Just make sure you filter the responses you want to consider seriously. Another alternative, along with taking the input you get from this post, would be to find people who do have JICs or D2s, PM them specific questions, and consider those comments too. Some people have their mod list in their signature, their profile, or their Cardomain page.

I don't have coilovers, so I'll refrain from commenting.... but look down the past few pages of threads and you'll find at least 2 threads discussing D2s... there might also be a group deal still going on for those..... check out the GD forum for more info.....
