Speed Control Volume on Type A Radio?

Is the SCV (speed control volume) on the "Type A" radio supposed to work? The owner's manual indicates this feature only for the Bose Radio- Type B; however, my radio allows you to adjust this feature via the Audio button. If it's not a feature, why would it light up and allow me to adjust from Low, Medium, High or Off? OR, am I missing something on how to set it properly?
Appreciate the help!

I don't think the SCV works with the non-Bose system.

It is supposed to turn down your music if you drop from a higher speed to a lower speed and vise virsa. I just turned it off b/c I didn't like it changing the volume on it's own. If I want to listen to loud music when going slow, then damnit, I want to listen to loud music when I'm going slow. Hope this helps.

Thanks, but I meant does the 2000 maxima with the BOSE stereo have this feature, not what the feature is. And if it does, how do you turn it on/off?

No it does not have the feature. You can tell by hitting the audio button then scrolling between bass/treble/fader/balance. If it has it, it has another setting called SCV. If it does have SCV you can adjust it between off/low/med/high.

My 2k2 non-bose has it too

My 2k2 non bose radio has the SCV option in the radio menu. It does not seem to do anything at all but I can set it from Low, Med or High.

That's my question... if it gives you the option of adjusting the settings but doesn't seem to do anything...it doesn't make sense. Now, I didn't put this in my original post, but here's little more context: when I purchased my '03 (new) the dealer showed me this option. I thougt it was working, but that must have been my imagination. After driving it for about a year, I told the dealer about it not working and they put a new radio in my car (still under warranty). Nothing changed with the new radio. Got a new radio from Nissan but I don't think I needed it.

Well at least you got a new radio for nothing. The SCV doesn't work as well as other cars such as ones in GM vehicles.

LOL....SO THAT'S WHAT THAT IS!!! i always wondered that the heck that thing did. I would play with it all the time thinking it was something cool! I would set it at different settings all the time and it never did anything.
