probably sounds like azz. Anything Custom Maxima has for sale is pretty ricey. Get a real catback, JIC Magic, Cattman, Warpspeed, or even Greddy.

That is not a dual exhaust. That is a single exhaust with dual tips essentially. A true dual exhaust comes straight off the headers, which would be split 3 and 3. Go with the Frankencar catback for some nice style and no ricey noise.

idk about you guys, but the sound clips of the dual exhaust on custommaxima.com sound better than most of all the other exhausts I have heard. Why is it gay? I want my max to be close to the sound that a vr6 GTI makes. I know they are different engines and make different noises, but its better than the crap clips I have seen of alot of max's. Im confused why you all hate it. thnx.

Hahaha... this is what I get for trying to be neutral...

First of all, Irish already gave a good reason, which I agree with, but did not want to repeat... "That is not a dual exhaust. That is a single exhaust with dual tips essentially. A true dual exhaust comes straight off the headers, which would be split 3 and 3." It is not a true dual exhaust, so TO ME, pretending to have something that it isn't, is being a poser, something that I, personally, would not want to do.

Second, IT IS MY OPINION, that we do indeed have different tastes and preferences, just like normal people differ on many things.... for example, ride quality of suspension set-up, exhaust sounds, etc. I, personally, DO NOT like the way it looks on our cars. So as hard for you to believe that, people do have different opinions on certain things.

Third, this is a forum, where people post their OPINIONS, so if you don't want to hear MY comments about YOUR post, then YOU should not post.

Fourth, I don't care for whatever foreign language you posted in, because I speak English, and anything you don't have the guts to say in English doesn't warrant any response from me anyway.

Fifth, "Its your money and your decision... go buy it if ya like it..." that still holds true... unless you want me to decide for you... but you obviously don't like my taste...

Look, I didnt mean to hurt you feelings. I know this is a site of opinions, and helpful answers. but your comment to my first post was "if i like it, go buy it". That statement was no help to me. I try to be nice, but ppl like irish provoke me and its very annyoing. people used to be nice and patient on this site, now it seems like all I do is defend myself. If i post a question, it usualy replies back as i am stupid, go read stickies (when i did), look at stickes again harder (which makes me not want to be here), and then ppl argue about not helping. it happens with alot of threads that i see, not just mine. I feel bad for the newbies, cuz they get attacked. Now what i am writing about has nothing to do with dual exhaust, which I thought the sound clip was cool. its fine u dont think its cool, i wasent saying ur dumb for posting ur opinion. btw that was german for what i know as "you are a headache pill". not much of a cutdown, but its what i know in german. if ya got a sence of humor, u might get a smile out of it. srry to offend anybody.... again...

No, ya didn't, ya wanted my real opinion, and I gave it to ya. For the exact reason you mention below, there are some comments I DO NOT post, because they come across as hostile, mean, or attacking.

Because I did not want to state my true opinion, for the reason stated above, BUT, you have to agree that what I said was true... we do have different tastes, and it is your decision and money in the end....

I do not attack newbs, being one myself... but I know there are people who are much harsher.... I may redirect with sarcasm, but I try not to be a jerk as far as possible.... but ya also have to admit that this is a 2 way street... there are many questions that newbs post that can be answered with some simple research, and that is why there are Stickies and FAQs, as well as Internet search engines... so people do not get annoyed with the same questions over and over again. This is also a technical issue, because the bandwidth for this site is finite, so we need to save space, something this conversation is not doing. Furthermore, many newer folks return attitude when redirected or when advised, regardless of the tone by which they are instructed, which prompts others to be more hostile. Like I posted before, the knowledge sharing of a forum is not a perfect system, but its been working well so far, we just need to learn to live with it and do the best we can.

I do have a sense of humor.... but like I said, I speak English and had no way of knowing what you said, good or bad, which is why I ignore foreign language posts.

I'm not too crazy with the dual exhaust look. Since you have to do away with the stock rear bumper.

PearlWhtMaX2000 has this or a similar setup on his car. I believe he also has some soundclips if you care to get in touch with him, I'm sure he can give you his input.

IMO, I don't really care for the look of this setup, but it's ultimately up to you and how you want to spend your money.

Hind - If you think Irish was bad, you should hide now.... He is one of the nicer people here and while he may be blunt or to the point, he is on no measure mean.

Now puppetmaster will tell ya that I enjoy a good fight or two, but in this case I really have nothing to add on the dual exhaust idea. It looks different, the sound is cheap to me, but if it is your taste then I hope the kit works well. If it is all bolt up, then cool. That is a hard thing to find.

You took offense to people's comments too soon. No one said anything to you that was mean, everyone told you their opinions and why you dont see a lot of that setup on the org. They all told you why, but you didnt like it. My advice is to toughen up your skin if you post here because it wont get nicer.

This forum is probably the best forum I have used for cordial comments and people just trying to help each other. People who get abusive are usually run off in a short time, so don't think that everyone is trying to put you down, they are just giving their .02 cents.

Since Rob actually knows me, he's "allowed" to get into my business, if that's what you're referring to. As to getting annoyed at me, I'm not really sure why.

You said:
im just curious what people think of it
I replied:
That is not a dual exhaust. That is a single exhaust with dual tips essentially. A true dual exhaust comes straight off the headers, which would be split 3 and 3.
I'm not sure why that would "provoke" you....I was simply stating a fact, which i would think you would appreciate since you are asking about that exhaust. Custommaxima markets that exhaust as a true dual exhaust. I was letting you know that they are advertising falsely, since it's not a true dual exhaust. If that is provoking you, well...what can I say, I'm sorry, just letting you know...

I know we've had an "issue" in the past on a different subject, but I'm not sure what that has to do with my post here....i wasn't criticizing you or your car or anything else, I was simply letting you know the story with that exhaust....answering you question.

But if you're going to get all upset about it, I'll make sure not to help you out with an honest answer any more.....but just so you know, I do know a *few* things about the maxima and cars in general.... I'm not going to just get on the thread and be like "that thing is cool" or "that thing is gay" or whatever....I'm going to tell it like it is, and if it's not what you want to hear, well, feel free to ignore it. Have a good night.

Rob IS chill... read that post over again... he meant you no harm whatsoever, and actually gave a pretty good take on things here; I'm sure most unbiased people would agree to that as well. He was trying to give you some good advice, but it seems that you are now hypersensitive to this issue, and maybe it'd be best if we all kept away from ya, since every comment is now gonna be misconstrued as hostile and offensive.

Also, you never said anything about other people getting into other people's business... in another thread maybe?

Whatever it is, I'm sicking of explaining this stuff to ya because I think Rob, Josh, and I have already laid everything out pretty clearly. Good luck.

What the heck is with this? Is this prison or something where a new guy is supposed to kick someones a$$ or something to prove they are hard?

Ask a question, take the comments, and check your ego at the door. All this guy has done is go off on people. Telling me to "chill out" when he is the one "freakin out".

I will remember this one. I know a lot of little tricks with this car that I learned the hard way. I think from now on I will just keep them to myself when it comes to new people. They often never seem to respect the input anyway. All they ever want is what is cool, not what works.

By the way Hind.... it is never over here. Someone two years from now will find this post, and re-open it and it will start alllllll over. Happens all the time.

does that exhaust split after the b-pipe, or does it have two b-pies. If two, couldn't you put you o2 sensor in one of htem and restrict any flow?

Take a look at this link: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/484611/3

He has pics of the underside. Looks like it comes from the B pipe.

Actually.... looks like it goes into the muffler, then the other pipe comes out and over to the other side. That is a really cool design. Nothing to do with flow displacement, but cool design.

I guess the bottom line is: "Do you want to add all that extra weight for the sake of looks?" If so...go for it, it looks nice. If not, then don't

Looking at the pics again, I gotta say that I like the tips... they could be a tad smaller, but they look good.

Somehow to me, the dual exhaust on a Max just isn't too appealing... maybe its just the rear bumper looks in the pics... I dunno....

hey guys. thats me w/ the dual exhaust. to tell you the truth i couldnt be happier w/ it. the sound is amazing, and very different from any other maxima that i have ever heard. it is was very hard to ge installed because of all the custome pip[e bending, and took about 6 in a half hours. i have a sound clip not a great one, but it gives you the idea: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=313917

also for more pics visit my car domain.

2kVQboodah if you have anymore questions id be more than happy to help you out.
