Y-pipe question
I am looking to order a Y-pipe for my 2001 5spd Maxima. I am undecided on which one to get. Does anyone prefer one over the other? Also, when I do decide, is it a good idea to have it installed by like Meineke or Midas? I would do the work myself, but have nothing in the ways of tools. Thanks
Cattman if harsh weather and rust is a problem.
Stillen if weather conditions isn't a problem
WarpSpeed...do they make one yet?
Mostly likely, Meineke or Midas won't install it for you because you are removing a pre-cat.

Yes we are working on a 5th gen Y pipe, we are working on a Y pipe as well which will replace the CA emissions precat as well.
As far as quality goes they are a quailty assembly, it ain't artwork but they have no butt welds in them which restrict flow, we just run the welds a little hotter for better penetration. They are all custom mandrel bent and are stronger than they need to be. We have run into a car or two where where the clearance is a little tight but most fit right up and slip right on.
While I am at the Exhaust show in Memphis Friday I will be talking to some of the experts about the sensor issues and some of the different flex sections that are now available as well as some mufflers.
