POOOSSSERRR!

Man, talking about a huge poser. This guy must think that he's an authority on Maximas and by putting that GT-R badge on that, he's convincing us that he has a Skyline GT-R engine or something modified in his engine...HAHA..or does he?

Is this guy insulting our intelligence???

Ok guys you caught me.... he he! NO not really :-). I do have a GXE and did for a moment think to my self, hmmm should I put SE lights on my Maxima. Then without even thinking about how tacky it would be for me to do so, I decided nah too much money for no extra performance. But seriously I'm not a want to be, I like everything about my GXE, yeah eveny my tail lights. One thing that I wish I had though is a sunroof.

Personally I dont think the SE lights are ricey or tacky.. I think they look better (one of the many reasons I got an SE). Its the giant banner and the crooked GTR that entertain me about this car.. the rims aren't so hot either.

I like the SE lights too. What I meant to say is... I wouldn't want to drive around acting like I'm driving an SE when I'm actually driving a GXE. However, I'm happy to have my GXE just the way that it is. :-)

Is there anyone else out there who likes the GLE/GXE taillights better than the SE? The one exception is a black Maxima.

The red lights look OK on the beige and the light silver colours.

The black looks better on all colours, except for black, it's 50/50.

One thing is for sure is that nothing looks good on the powder blue. Man, that is one ugly colour.

Wait a second, i have SE taillamps on my GXE. Doesn't mean i'm trying trick anyone into thinking it's a SE. I've even thought of added an altima/sentra GXE badge on it so everyone knows! I just find the black housing looking better on a white car than the red housing (which it does in my humble opinion).

I just hate the GT-R badge.

I like the GLE/GXE taillights better than the SE's..I'm personally big on matching stuff, and I only like the SE taillights on a black car..

Ok, just clear one thing up for me then. When you are cruising down the road what body characteristic do you look for to determine the model of Maxima(s) that you meet up with? As far as I can tell the most distinquishing SE feature is the blackend out tail lights. Now don't get me wrong I like the SE tail lights too but...

Dude, "Rustang" is what they called the Mustangs of the 60's because of their chrome bumpers rusted quickly as well as the metal used on the cars. But that is it.....I had 3 Mustangs(85 & 87) they aren't the greatest riding cars but far from being a "Rustang" and would blow away any Maxima on the road today.

Coming from the front, I look for the trim around the front grill cause GLE's have chrome and SE's don't, in the back obviously the taillights, and then the badging.. no badge=gxe

I usually look for the rims and badging. The taillamps are a good indication, but, when you can see the rear of the car... you go by door handles and rims. And also, a rear spoiler which all SE's have (which i don't).

It'd be different if i had the SE/GLE muffler, wing, fog lamps, badging, etc.

It'd also be different if each trim came with difference engine/tranny/performance levels.

The GXE performs just as well as a SE, if not better in a straight line race.

I think you're trying to compare it to the Civic DX trying to pretend it's a Civic Si, but still has the DX motor.

So, are AE door sills bad too? I guess i could always get clear taillamps. . I understand where you're coming from and, me being like any other modder, i have to defend my mods. I'm a proud owner of a GXE. I just happened to find the taillamps of a SE of a better design...so i stole them (bought them)!

Yeah, you're allowed to add them and not call it stealing... I'm probably going to add the AE headlights to my SE....

I to have a 2k GXE and the only reason I got it is the price. I got my Iceland Pearl auto from a wholesaler I am friends with. He put a power sunroof in, wood grain dash, leather interior and a rear spoiler and I got it for $20,500 with only 12k on it! I couldn't resist. Now all I need are the fog lights and chrome tip finisher for the tailpipes. Ups just delivered my SE 17 inch rims and tires-I got them for $1000 off of ebay with 8k miles on the shoes. I would love to do the upgrade to the tailights as well. But not sure what that involves. And the AE sills and SE white face gauges wouldn't be bad either! How was your experience with the tailights?
