Check Engine light came on...

Check Engine light came on...
and has turned itself off. My '01 SE has had it's tranny, clutch, and front brakes done. Any ideas? BTW....the Nissan tech said my tranny came apart from the inside. He's going to ask Nissan to send me info on getting my money back for the new tranny I had to put in it.

it is just a guessing game unless you have the code(s) pulled. even though it turned off, the code is still stored in the ecu. plug up a obd2 reader and see what issue you are looking at.

Typical
First of all: Tranny should've been covered under the powertrain warranty, depending on your mileage.
Second: Unless you trust your guy implicitly - call Nissan yourself and start the process.
About the codes: money bet is either o2 sensor, bad coil(s), or MAF - in that order.
These seem to be the most common and slightly innocuous SES codes that are thrown.
Mine threw a code at about 25k, went away, came back, x 2.
Finally stayed-on, and I had it diagnosed by the stealer as the o2 sensor.
Replaced the sensor and reflashed the ECU under warranty.
If you have the same issue, it should be covered under the emissions warranty which I THINK is somewhere around 6yr/60k...probably more, I just dont' remember the exact number.
good luck.

He probably forgot to plug in the MAF or intake air temp sensor back in after removing the intake piping to do the clutch. This set a code off. What was wrong with your old tranny that you had it done ? Where are you located at ? still have the old tranny ? I would pay for it if you can sell it.

Do you have the tranny thou ? I might need the case cause mine started to leak and I am not sure if the case is cracked or the crappy Honda-Bond sealant is what let it leak. Eighter way I reather just swap guts out of my good tranny into yours if possible to have a decent trans. Lemme know I would pay for shipping if your going to toss it.
