I have a 2000 SE with the factory headlight assm. with Piaa GTX headlights and the drivers headlight works some times... the highbeam always works but not the low. when i noticed it was out i opened the hood and checked the connection in the back, it was on tight and i moved a little... nothing, so i decided... i need new headlights.. ok. i dropped the hood and it came on... so i turned off the car, went into the store came back out turned on the car and it was off again, so i just hit the front of the lens and it came on and stayed on the whole way home...

anyone know what might cause this??

 

What lights did you have in the car before? Is your wiring wrapped in tape to protect it from rain? It rained a bucket this week in NY so maybe it had something to do with it. You may have a short in the wiring.

 

fact. bulbs before piaa, the protective tape and tubes have never been removed.

 

also the max was in the garage all yesterday, i was driving my 04' Saab 9-3 Vector yeterday (fun car, would never take on long trip again!).
