hey what steering control r u talking about?

since no 2000 maximas have steering wheel radio controls, i was under the impression that you have to buy a 2001+ steering wheel and replace the 2000 steering wheel..

2001 steering wheel:

There is a door on the left hand side of the wheel that can be removed. Behind it there is a hanger that looks at about the right place.

I have seen radio control buttons of the same shape in the 2000-2001 Pathfinder.

The big question is: is the wiring there / does the radio support a remote control.

i was told by the guy at the dealership that the audio controls are listed under a 2000 max with the bose... and he said that the harness "should" be in there. it looks like Nissan just wanted to screw us 2000 owners one more time by just not putting it on...

Just like Nissan "should" respect their warranty.

But it would be great to finally put this question to rest.

ok after talking to the guy at the dealership some more i realize... he is an idiot... so i ran the P/N he gave me for the controls 25524y900 and it came up with 2002 radio controls. so i called some other places and they told me that i would have to replace the steering wheel, clock spring and radio to do it

not worth the trouble... so i am going to say it is not possible unless you get your hands on a wrecked 2001+ max and strip all that stuff out of it...

i wouldn't bother...my steering audio buttons are pretty much useless, they work less than half the time. they seem to be getting less reponsive as time goes on.
