Lubricating stiff shifter

I have a auto transmission and while getting the shifter from park to gear is kind of tight specially during the first start.

Does anyone know how to lubricate the shifter or is there another reason for the shifter to be tight...

only thing ive ever done to improve the feel from shifting from park to any gear was doing a drain and refill on the tranny fluid. this was done with mobil 1 atf so im not sure the same effect would occur with dino oil. a flush with synthetic would probably net the same as well.

amsoil ATF is my recommendation and when parking always apply the E-brake before putting it into Park not allowing the car to roll forward....

Do you lubricate the trany brackets or the locking clips or the arm connected to the shifter cable?. Iam going to spray some silicone lubricant and use heavy syn grease where the arm connects to the tranny.

Does that sound right or does the lubrication have to happen elsewhere?
