Mods=trouble

I'm lucky enough to have not been pulled over by the police for tint or clear corners. however, I'm constantly reading threads about people being stopped for those violations. I'm curious to see what mods have attracted the most attention from the police.

2 speeding tickets, no tickets for mods yet... although when I add a y-pipe to the GReddy cat-back already on the car... that might change...

got pulled over for loud exhaust .. but i guess running a cut-out stright pipe is pretty loud.. i showed him how my electric peice worked and he said "o nice where can i get that for my truck" so my {pull over} ended up being a friendly chat about cars.. HAHA

in the max, i only got stopped for speeding and he mentioned that i didnt have a front plate. thankfully that is what my ticket was for. my accord i got stopped for tint/no front plate once and got a warning, and then for clear corners in the rear once and got a ticket. that was it for a period of 2 years (9 months plateless).

in my first accord, everytime i went thru one particular town, i got a tint ticket, a lights ticket, a seatbelt ticket, something. it had to come close to a dozen tickets til i figured out another way to get to where i was going. that was the worst.

He should know that a sunroof is to let light & air in or flick cigarette butts out. Not stand up and look out.

^ lol. i think that went over some people's head.

i've been eyed pretty hard by a cop for driving in the city with just the dde's on, but i think/hope it was just out of admiration.

normally i'll turn down my music if i see police or if i'm driving through an area where i sense they may be overly sensitive to loud music. that's a mod you can directly control.

Around here....tint darker than about 35%....big fat loud ricer exhaust tips......clear corners on dark colored cars stick out like sore thumbs.

But really, if you're driving legally (i.e. no excessive speed, no reckless cornering, no running stop signs, etc...) the police generally won't stop you for cosmetic things.

noticing how charlotte north kakalaky and rock thrill south kakalaky area doesn't pull much for tint........you've pretty much gotta giv'em a reason to, and they could use tint as a bonus when writing your pink slip.

true. cops in rock hill are busy fighting gangs and murderers so they don't have time to pull over people will illegal corner lights. thats a good thing.

ok, dec minus february equals 11 months (give or take one). 28 times pulled over divided by 11 months equals... holy crap dude?! Do you alot time for getting pulled over on the way to school?! heheheh

As for me, no mods yet, and my right foot is recovering from Toyotean muscular dystrophe (aka, the 'Yota was slow, but I'm starting to drive faster). I'd like to start with fogs, tint, or SE style tail lights. I don't think those should get me in too much trouble...

Don't drive to attract attention and you wont have any problems, such as what preacher (irish) said earlyer and cops will leave you alone. I had a cop tell me my car "looks real slick, keep it slow and steady young man, slow & steady"

Yeah...modded cars seem to get pulled over more than stock cars...

My friend with a modded camaro got pulled over for doing 94 in a 55 and his friend which was behind him was doing well over 100 in a stock eclipse didn't get pulled over...

Hence why I drive the sleeper sedan even though I really thought I 'needed' a Camaro a few months ago.

Anyway, it seems like a lot of people are taking their mods OFF their Maximas (ie muffler, intake, etc) because it actually hurts performance. (See the 'worst mods' thread)
