i just got a 2000 GXE auto, tonight i was comin home from a party and let one of my friends drive. Somehow the car ended up in reverse when we where goin like 45-50. The car stalled and we pulled over put it in park and it stared right back up, no lights are on and it runs normal and there are no new noises. Just wondering what i should do. Thanks

what do u mean the car ended up in reverse... u mean the car started going in reverse? or the shifter went in reverse?
its impossible for the go reverse if u havent came to a complete stop.
if the shifter went to reverse.. then your freind was messing around.. which could mess up the tranny

First off, smack your friend in the head for being an idiot. Next, don't ever let him/her drive it again. Most likely didn't do any real damage, maybe just grinded on the gears a bit.
from what i know, there are a few sensors that protect from this exact thing. and one of them is that if it ever goes into reverse while going forward faster then 5mph (or some low speed) the car automatically stalls and shuts down. i have a feeling nothing happened, but yes, that wasn't cool. enjoy the car.
how the hell did it go into reverse? isn't there a lock that prevents that from happening, don't you have to press the brake to disengage that lock.
you say somehow it ended up in reverse but check that part out.

what they said about the reverse "safety" switch...unlikely any damage was done, but wtf was your friend thinking.
BTW, 2kMike - you need to make your signature smaller, because it will get deleted by the moderators...there are guidelines in the FAQ as to how big it can be. Also that size is killing bandwidth (which IS limited here).
