Question about d2s in our headlights

My friend is willing to give me a pair for free. I know that our is d2r (reflective), but i can put in d2s(projector) in our headlights. I know that the d2s is 200 lumens higher than the d2r.

I want the extra 200 lumens and just was wondering how(if any) messed up my beam pattern would be? I think it already sux, but maybe an extra 200 will help a little.

Please give me your thoughts.

Sean

The extra 200 lumens will no go to the ground. Since the D2S bulb does not have the appropriate reflector you are just going to cause excessive glare to oncoming traffic. You will see no difference in the light output on the ground. It will look brighter to you if you stand in front of the car and look at it becuase of all the extra glare but thats about all. In addition your beam cutoff will not be nearly as sharp. Try it and you will see.

Your headlights will look brighter, but as juice said you will have no benefit of using a d2s bulb, It would cause a lot of glare as well so i suggest you dont do it if your looking for the best output.

If you want to go for a project and beat the beam pattern of other hid reflectors then try to do a projector retro.
Buy two hid projectors, preferably bi-xenon, you already got the d2s bulbs and ballast, look up some links on how to pursue the retro, and then be one of the first 5gens with projectors and have the one of the sickest outputs possible.
