Service Engine Soon Light on BEFORE Seafoam
2002, 20Kmiles. Cruising along on a trip tonight at 65mph and the Service Engine Soon light comes on. Boo! I'm scared. pull off the road - read the manual and it implies it's some emissions problem - to check the filler cap - just keep driving a few trips and see if it goes away. Had filled up 70 miles prior. reseated cap, light stays on steady.
Log on here tonight and after reading the Seafoam thread (no Seafoam here) looked around found a list of codes about a mile long and lots of things that aren't emission related. Also from here/other forums (forumi?) say head to Autozone and get the code read.
Just want to know if I should add the Seafoam BEFORE I get the code read or should I wait until afterwards? (extreme sarcasm)

I concur with foodmanry that you should get your code read and see what it is. I don't think seafoam is going to solve the engine check light especially that you only have 20k miles on your car. I never once had a SES light come on since I acquired the car brand new.

I think your jimmy-jam is jammed. Just go to Jiffy Lube and tell them your jimmy-jam's jammed and ask them to jimmy your jimmy-jam to un-jam it, Jimmy. After that, go to the dealer. You still have a warranty.

Was a bad O2 sensor. Stealer replaced it under warranty.
The "BEFORE Seafoam" alluded to a thread started earlier in the day where a guy put in this stuff, engine started smoking, and Service Engine Light came on. Just a sarcastic attemp to be funny. Sorry.
