Problem with Umnitza DDEs

ok well my ballast went out on my passanger side ddes so i changed it out today and evertthing worked fine, but i noticed on my drivers side, the high beam angel eye (far right) is lighting up a lil purpleish color as if its not getting enough power or something

its the same type of color when u look up at flourescent lights and one is out and the other is dimly lit..

anyone know what im talking about?

ill take a pic tonight and show it if i can

The light on the DDE is going bad. Typically, with HIDs when they get worn they begin to emit a more purplish hue. Purplish hue out of HIDs is a sign of HIDs going bad. Could be the same case with your DDEs.

One of my rings lights up purple when I first turn them on. With my ring it's just b/c they are cold, but after a few minutes it is as bright as all the others. Is this what your rings are doing? BTW, Umnitza does mention some cold startup problems on their website.

Yeah it finally got cold enough in AL for mine to have cold startup problems. My rings just like theirs are purplish until they warm up.

what they said. after a couple mins they look normal.

hopefully the cold weather won't affect or decrease the life of the rings or ballasts.
