If I was to get an S-AFCII...then is it necessary to have Technosquares ECU upgrade or just get the ECU by itself? I thought that the ECU does the same and more than the S-AFCII?

I dont think its neccessary unless you want a higher rev limit. Or to remove the speed governor. The TS ecu is a preset program so its not going to gain as much as a tuned safcII. The power drops off before the original redline so I dont think the ecu upgrade would help much unless you had cams.

I disagree. The TS ECU reflash does more than just raise the rev limiter and remove the speed governor. It advances timing, adjusts the A/F ratio to be more stoich and also FIXES THE ISSUE WITH POWER DROPPING OFF TOWARDS REDLINE.

You should read more about it (here http://www.technosquareinc.com/maxima.htm)

From what I've read/understand, the SAFC will allow you to mess with the A/F a bit, but it's not going to do any of the other things I mentioned.

The TS reflash is definitely the way to go - you can use the SAFC to fine tune the A/F AFTER that, but the reflash is supposed to make the A/F ratio pretty optimum for NA operation already.

FYI - I have the TS reflash - I just dynoed 242hp - AT THE WHEELS - with the reflash done, headers and catback exhaust. Try getting that with an SAFC.

EDIT: TS claims a ~20 hp gain with their reflash - I didn't dyno before the reflash, so I can't say yay or nay to this claim, but my butt dyno says it kicks ***!

as already said by hnda_etr, the TS flash offers more than just increased rev limit and speed governor. The TS program is kind of a a one size fits all, considering different cars perform differently and are also under different conditions. Hence a S-AFC as a addition could be a good idea if your looking to extract every ounce of hp/tq out of your vehicle by fine tuning your entire power band with an A/F you prefer.

Larrio I see you have the TS ecu, How do you like it? Do you think it will be equally as good with a auto. And before I came to this thrend, I was on their website. It does'nt say nothing about the 2k-2k1 maxima's ecu upgrade.

And guy will it be safe to have both the AFC and the TS ecu???
