I have a auto tranny.. Can I still rev my engine while it's on P or N? Will it damage my engine or tranny? Thx

make sure your car is warmed up before you rev it, and don't drop it into drive from neutral if you're revving it.

exactly...im old enough to know better then to race in the middle of the day and busy street...and why would i waste my gas on him? my engine would use the same amount of gas getting through the intersection as his little engine all the way home

race ricers the smart way - rev your engine at the light

I avoided racing a I30 with 4 teenagers at the light doing the same way, no way in hell a 00-01 I30 is going to keep up, automatic, bone stock, with 4 guys inside. They reved and asked for a race, I gave em that " don't fuq with me" look, and reved it up to the rev limiter and held it there for like 2 seconds- now my car is a 5spd, has every bolt on, flywheel and all so getting up to the rev limiter takes me less than a second from idle. Needless to say they never wanted to race my Max again. No problems with my car seeing 6700RPMs for half its looong 100K mile life- can't say the same bout the VIAS problem.

the other day, i did the same thing...an acura TL-S, i think it was either an 02 or 03 wanted to go, and kept on revving his engine and giving me the "lets go" look..i saw a cop about 4 cars behind me, and acted as if i did...so i revved my engine...when we took off, he peeled and took off, and i just took off nice and subtly...well that cop turned on his lights, and the look on that guys face was just like "...****..." im not even sure if i would have raced him even if there was no cop, cuz i know i could kick the **** outta him.
