I found this site which is the cheapest I have seen so far for the Injen Intake. Anyone ever use this company before?

I have a question... Is this a short ram or the whole CAI? I want the CAI... Does Injen make both models? Also for the CAI how much work is done to install... do I have to cut anything and how easy is it to do? Let me know if this price is good and which one I am buying and please don't forget to mention your install experiences also what gains everyone thinks they got out of it... thanks!

From every site i have looked into for the past two months this is the cheapest I have found... do you know of somewhere cheaper? If so please do share I would like to order my intake soon. Also is this the short ram or the CAI?

 

its supposedly a Cold air, but most people on here will tell you thats its more of a warm air because of the position of where the filter sits, its not a true cold air. as stated above the only true CAI they make for our cars it tha PR CAI. i would go with a Berk, thats my .02

 

get a Berk. i got my short ram with K&N filter for ~$115 and i love it. you would save over $100 if you went my route.

 

So if I got this injen intake it would bolt right up I wouldn't have to cut anything. Can you eloborate on why I should get the berk I thought about that too?

 

For the 5 billionth time, the only CAI they make for the 5th gen Maximas is the Cattman/ Place racing.......save your money and get a short ram Berk or Frankencar......you will thank us all later....

 

is it true that the WAI are more prone to blowing the MAF? pretty much the only reason why i never got an intake of any sort is fear of blowing or damaging my MAF. it's such a cheap mod but i'm not sure if it's worth the headache... do you guys have any tips on how to avoid damaging it?

 

with place racing you have to drill a hole. with Berk and injen you don't. i went with Berk because there was a GD going on (Sept and Oct) and I heard Bryan (CobyMoby) was a great guy.

 

OK... great I agree with you... I will get the short ram, but please tell me why the berk or fankencar is better then injen and I would love to get it. from reading on the board I thought injen was the best for our cars, but I have heard others say berk is good as well. Please eloborate on the berk and/or frankencar as to why it is better then injen?

 

my opinion, is that first Berk is less $$. second, it will do the same as the Injen since its not a true CAI.

I would say go with the Apexi Filter, cus they are maintenance free.

But they are a bit more expensive

 

ok now im more confused after posting this whole thread... what is the difference between the injen, berk, and frankencar besides the price between them all? Is injen really that bad of an intake?

 

Go with the Injen or Berk. I never had the berk, but the frankencar I have is just alike. The performance is better(mainly in low rpm) than the Injen only if the car is cold. Now when the car get hot, the performance will suffer dew to sucking all that hot air(your gas milege will suffer too when this happen).

The Injen is what I have on my car currently, to me this is the best all-around performer(to me). People will say it's not a true CAI, but everytime I drive for 2-3 hours, I stop to open the hood and check how hot the pipes on the intake are, and all I can tell you is that its not even warm(still very cold). All this in 52 degree weather.

And lets just say I have reasons my for not getting the place racing. No rust-o-change-o- for me!!!!!!! Plus a 3' hole is an nasty eye sight, especially when the rust appears if it's not treated. Good luck!!!!

that's good news... the only thing is I was set on an injen intake when i posted this message. Now after reading all of your responses I am trying to get more information on berk intakes now. If anyone has ANY information on berk please lead me to it... thanks!

 

injen can be had for teh same price off ebay with a k&n cleaner

 

????? i've better gas mileage with my WAI (Berk). thats with city and highway driving. on a 800 mile trip i was past 430 miles on first tank of gas before gas light came on. thats better than pre-intake driving.

Try it with two bad oxygen sensor, plus y-pipe, and all city driving in NYC( three street lights per block). Then you'll know what I'am talking about...

I have only been on this site for a few months and I have seen this thread so many damn times its rediculous. Dude, basically all WAI intakes have dynoed pretty much the same, so unless you want to pay for the name just get a Berk or Frankencar. It seems that Berk has better customer service from what I have read than Frankencar. The other guys are right about the Injen not being a true CAI due to its positioning.
