I hate that it sits on forever because I have had instances in which I walked away and thought they would shut off and they stayed on. I want them to shut off about 5-10 seconds after I turn the car off not the 30 or so it is set at now.

There's a way, but you have to take it to the dealer (I'm pretty sure of that). I think its in the "How-to" section somewhere or maybe in the FAQ but its in a list of things that the dealer can program (maybe with the ECU?). I don't know that you can get it down that low I'm sure you can have them shut off with the car. Good luck.

I thought the headlights shut off if you leave them on the minute you open the door?!

if you leave the door open or cracked on the 5.5 gens, the lights never turn off until you either go and close the door or turn the lights off...maybe thats what happened...i personally like how they stay on for about 30 seconds, because when its dark out, it makes it easier for me to see and unlock my front door...

I don't like that the lights stay on so long... attracts too much attention... esp with the spate of HID thefts... when I'm in public parking lots, I actually just turn em off myself and then flip it back to Auto after the car is off... might be useful to know how to reduce the timing on em lights...

It can be changed at the dealer.

Headlamp Illumination delay (time headlights remain on after exiting car when headlight is in the “auto” position)
Mode 1: 45 seconds
Mode 2: No Delay (lights turn off immediately)
Mode 3: 30 Seconds
Mode 4: 1 minute
Mode 5: 1 ½ minutes
Mode 6: 2 minutes
Mode 7: 2 ½ minutes
Mode 8: 3 minutes
