Is there anyone that's willing to donate or sell very cheap there front struts from there 2000 model cars? I would like to see if I can get the Koni inserts to work on a 2K maxima. The weak link beside the brakes is the suspension. The car seems to bounce to much on country road and something needs to be done now. KYB has been no help and I don't see any in the future.

Anyone think this is a waste of time?

The Koni's do fit in the stock strut housing... now the question is, will the strut bolt up correctly? I currently have the Koni's sitting in the housing, and am waiting for the Ground Controls to arrive.

Kev,

What about the rears? Can we at least switch out the rear shocks with Koni replacements?

Kev, I thought you don't know if it will fit! But how come you actually have one? If you don't know weather it will fit, you will not buy it!

Someone on this forum has Koni rears installed. Turbo95Max and I compared the rears and they do look very similiar.

Actually, I have the whole set. If they don't fit, I'll sell it to a NorCal member, so it's no biggie.... but if they do fit, then

I know for the fact that they will fit flawlessly. But back then, I was asking you if it works properly or not.

Since you have the Koni sets here, can you do some observation for me?

Can you check if the spring seat height adjustment is there? Can you check how low it lowers the car? Are they externally adjustable?

They are there. Looks like about 1" difference between normal setting and sport setting. Yes, they are externally adjustable.

cool, thanks.

Do you think the spring seat adjustment will make a difference in damping rates and spring rates? Do you think using the lowering options with the stock springs will be a nice combo?

Well, think of it this way... if you set it at the lower setting, your strut will have less travel distance. Your ride will be bumpier... and your rear end will probably sag.

If I were doing it on Eibachs or stock springs... I would probably go with the normal setting.
