Projectors or AE?

How do the projectors look on the 00-01 cars (the ones on ebay, thats where u get em right?) Preferably the black ones im lookin at. Does anyone ahve any pics of a sterling with the projectors and one with the AE's? I would like to compare the to. Im guessing the projectors would be more expensive. Thanks

I don't think he ever spoke highly of the projectors any time recently. You may be confusing him with someone else.

Get the projectors. They look nice. Before the projectors i was thinking myself of getting the ae's but then i saw the projectors i totally changed my mind. The ae's might be better made than the projectors but the projectors look alot more better than them. Also change the bulbs if u do decide on the projectors

I agree that they look alright, but I disagree that the poor light output is worth the look... maybe you drive on streets that are always nice and lit, so that works for you... but I think there are some, if not many, who need good light output in order to drive with some degree of safety....

Go to www.acuramdx.org to get an idea Dr. Roys retrofitting project..there's someone on that org that put HIDs in his MDX halogen projectors, and I can't say I'm hating it.

I got 2 MDX Headlights off ebay for a total of $80 bucks shipped.

Good Luck to those who will go this route.

If you add the cost of projector headlights lets say around 250-300
Then add an hid kit which will run you anywhere from 260-400
This pretty much equals the cost of 02 03 headlights on ebay.

Actually those lights are legit, the reason the price is so cheap is because they are new aftermarkets. I purchased my taillights from that company and they are oem quality without the oem price. Nissan charged one half more what I paid for my tails from this company. Therefore $600 sounds right. It will be safe to deal with them.

I see the vibe changed in the room after i put my max up with my projectors in still respecting the classy look of the maxima but still turning mad heads. Actually i live in a very poorly lighted area Im in the mohave desert out here at Edwards afb but when its that time i put on the high beams w. regular h1 bulbs and I see everything I need to. So to me the projectors are a good but I seen 1 person retrofit HIDS into the projectors off cardomain any1 know the link to that?? I keep hearing a few of u say u got HIDs in to AE lights I gotta see pix on those and 12000k thats stupid bright where da pix at???
OFF topic- Whats the brightest h3 setup besides hid fogs I been thru every cheap kind off ebay Ill stop being cheap and get whateva and wheres the best deal for them thanx

Pioneer DEH-4600 for sale 130 shipped

That was a good idea, I never even thought to look for a MDX forum and check what a HID conversion looked like . I just considered $$$ & how close the filament placement in the original halogen bulb would be to a D2S bulbs arc, and the mdx fit both those criteria well.

The beam patter is identical to those on the site, best part is the squirrel spotters ( yellow boxes above the cutoff), good for illuminating above head signs, but dim enough not to cause glare and blind other drivers.

12000K is not dumb bright its pure dumb, the higher kelvin rating the less lumens=less light ouput. The kit with the highest lumens is stock 4100k, if you want alittle color and still have good ouput 6000k is the way to go.

Ummm, before you crack on somebody, do your homework. These are aftermarket, and the seller is a certified seller of them. They have been selling these for the past 6 months now at that same price -- those aren't stolen.

Shoulda put that up the first time... That's good for the projector argument... balances things out a little since usually no one stands up for their light output... guess all we need now is some good pics... only problem is.. when you're driving on dark roads with other people around... you'd have to switch between your lows and highs so as not to cause too much glare... but I guess if there are enough people around you wouldn't even have to use your high beams...

Yo jaymax nice setup I never really liked the all chrome version of the projectors till i saw them on yours I guess its all ab matching and what u put it on quite clean!! Since u got the projectors what h3 bulbs are using now and did u change fog bulbs too. Im still searching for whats the best brand for whitest w. hint of blue plus brightest light output, that wont damage the wiring. Thanx for repping for the clean maximas w. projectors
