Spark Plug Question

I am at 60K stock 2001 SE, when should I realistically change the plugs? Manual says 60K but if they are platinum I thought they where good for 100,000

Most of the folks here don't wait until 100,000 miles and replace them between 60,000 to 80,000 miles.

I did mine at 88K, if I remember correctly. The fronts were easy, the rears were a pain, and I used NGK platinums.

Peace.

Nothing is wrong with the coils. lol. A lot of people changes their coils along with the sparkplugs since they're in the same place , it's like killing two birds with one stone. But only if you got like extra 300 bux to throw around. Otherwise just wait until ur coils go THEN replace it.

Some 2000 owners have had issues with their coils.

I have a 2001 SE with over 109K miles, and have never had an issue with my coils.

Peace.

Yeah, coils go faulty in the 5th gens. Don't be too worried about it though, i've have my car for 62,000 miles and they're ok. I know they will go soon, these are defective from the start. I'm just waiting for the day.

That sucks, anything else I should look out for, I have had the car since new and all I did was go synthetic, i usually play with my 92 mustang (650 HP) and could not afford to do 2 cars, I am bored though as there is nothing left to do to the stag so I want to play with this, I added a Stillen stru bar and that was it, dumbass dealer did the wrong oil and put Dino sh*t back in though.

only OEM 2000 coils go bad, they where eventually fixed by Nissan (but no chance for a recall!!! damnit).
2001 are ok, as well as the newer version of the 2000 coils (same part number as the older ones, but with a little gray dot on the head).
