Egr

Went to autzone the other day. My service soon light was on. Code said 0400 egr flow malfuction. So I replaced the valve and no luck. So I took it to Nissan for a computer read out, The showed me a hose right past the thottle body was clogged with carbon build up. They want $500.00 to fix it. Any way I can do this myself. I can't pass my emisson test. Help please.

take the pipe off, clean it out with carb cleaner, use something to poke all the carbon out with on the intake manifold. Reinstall the pipe, all good to go. I do this fairly often on Acuras, its EGR Insufficient flow detected. Carbon builds up and cloggs up the passage.

I see the pipe coming up about an inch though the thottle boby were does it go. I have not traced it. Is this fairly simple?

Also. Will the service engine soon light go off by its self? Or do I need to get the codes reset?
