help this prob is driving me nuts

in my 2000 se with 50k I get a pining noise in the engine alomst a rattle and loss of power evey once in a while when i go above 2k rpm. It first started with code 0420... then the other day in the rain the car was running real bad and shaking. I brought it to the dealer and it threw codes 0420 1320 and 0301. When i bought the car the coils were alreadty replaced! any one else have this noise? will new coils solve this. I had the ecm reprogrammed and now the rattles back and the ses lights back on.

Also the car had the ping noise before it threw a coil code. Also the stealership said my plugs might need to be changed, but there 100k plugs. Could it be bad plugs causing the coil failure?

could it be simply bad gas? I notice my 01 Max started to shake and ping slight;y when I used below 91 octane gas. Just a thought.

hey man--if the ses light is back on with the same code-then the whole y-pie and precats have to be replaced-that is the next step in the bulletin--as for the spark plugs--if they are stock than yes they are platinum tipped and do not(usually) need to replaced untill 105k it all depens on how you drive

Mobil and Chevron are the top two in overall fuel quality, use those whenever possible. Shell is a great alternative to when those are not available, and so is BP/Amoco. Anything else is just asking for trouble.
