Timing belt, chain belt or both?

I want to know if my 2000 nissan maxima GLE has a timing belt that needs to be replaced a chain belt, which probably doesn't or both? I hit the 75,000 mile mark and need to know if I have to replace anything! Thanks

Timing chain and it doesn't need attention. Please spend some time researching before you ask questions like this, or you will get flamed.

Well, it depends; if you got the full set of options for your Max, then you have both. If you didn't get the "Redundant Timing Package" though, you only have a belt...

j/k, it's a chain, doesn't need to be replaced.

sucks for all toyota people who have those belts because they are uber expensive to replace...my friend had to replace hers at 60k b/c it just about broke and it was upwards of $500. i guess replacing coils isnt so bad after all.

Yeah, it like a back-up system... when the rubber bands give out, the chain of paper clips kick-in

First of all,I did a search but this forum doesn't have good search capabilities, second, there is a better way to greet new members, rather than telling you "search before you post" or telling me to "spend time doing other things" maybe welcome to this fourm or something else, it's kind of disappointing.... I'll go somewhere else thanks
