wheel hop

When I try to accelerate quickly and the wheels spin from a dead stop, ill get a noise sometimes like the wheels are spinning for quick second than catching than spinning catching so on so on it makes the whole dashboard and everything shake...i had same prob with old tires i had so its not the tires. Anyone else have this problem?? BTW I just put a "GT" "Racing" all this crap Jetta to shame with my 2k.....hahaha he was very mad

Does this really bother you? Because improving this may not be cheap. To kill wheel hop you need: Stiffer springs, stiffer struts, solid motor mounts.

well first of all i have a 5spd so no Traction Control, no it doesnt bother me THAT much but I was thinking of stiffening the ride in the future...maybe that will help. So im guessing this is a common problem in the maximas?

Yes, wheel hop is a pain in the **** and it's a common problem. Better tires, stiffer suspension and drivetrain (solid motor mounts, better struts, plus stiffer springs) are about all you can do to help it.

Three words: LOWER TIE BAR. Had the biggest effect on reducing wheel hop. After that, springs and struts also.

Yes, this is highly annoying. Even on slightly wet pavement I get this problem under what I consider mild acceleration. My drop on Progress/Illumina nearly completely illiminated the issue, but it's back with a vengence now that I'm rollin stock.

not sure on what to elaborate on. The LTB helps to "control" the entire front end, tightening it up...see thread:
edit: the link I posted was for SFCs not LTB!...see link in next post!

also, I think I already answered this question for you, didn't I?
