Help...SES code P0135 ??? Please Look

All:

I have searched and searched, but have not been able to accurately determine the location of the O2 sensor for SES code P0135 (upstream o2 sensor heater fault- right bank). I have a 2000 Cali Spec with 4 O2 sensors and each sensor has a different shaped plastic wire connector.

I picked up a Bosch O2 sensor ( #13350) that has a 3 wire connector the goes to the O2 sensor off the manifold at the front of the car near the radiator. While the plastic connector is the same shape, the wire length is too long and hold downs are different than the OEM. I am confused and need help.

Where is bank one - near the radiator, or near the firewall?

Anyone in the know for certain....

Jack

Where is the right engine Bank?

Thanks for the links,

If I an standing at the front of the car (knees to the bumper) looking at the windshield, is the engine's right bank near the firewall or the radiator?

Thanks,

Jack

The right side of the engine is the firewall side according to the FSM.

[I just had P0139 and P1147 come on for no reason on the highway last weekend. Cruised to autozone got them reset, so far so good, did not come back....next time I go to the dealer for my $12.95 oil (Castrol GTX) change I'll hit them with the TSB .

I had the same 2 codes on my 02. Just driving on the highway one day and the CEL came on. I noticed my gas mileage decreasing with a quickness. Are you still under the basic warranty?

AHHH, I should not have made that post!! The light came back on last night!
No I am out of warranty (2002 with 78k). Could they be covered by Emissions warranty? If not, I am going to to try to get them goodwilled (i had very good luck so far with that - I got a new Bose head unit and an ABS sensor replaced for free at 70k or so). We will see - I am waiting for them to open up this morning to get an appointment.

Good luck on that. The O2 sensors are not covered in the 8years/80k miles emissions warranty. The cat and ECM would be covered under that warranty.

well, $488!!! is the price...damn. If it was only o2 sensors, that would not be as bad, but they have to reprogram ECU (WHY?) - are new O2 sensors different? and my regular mechanic does not have ConsultII.
