what kind of paint do you use to paint/smoke your headlight housing

you don't use paint, you take them apart and rub off the chrome paint, which has the gloss black basecoat. I'm assuming you mean doing the "AE" type headlights like this...


if you're talking about smoking the lens itself, well that's a different story...

You'll have to paint yours. Someone on the .org already tried to rub off the chrome, and all it was is chrome. i think maximapolak did, not sure.

I used Dupont Satin Black bumper and trim paint. It has held up perfectly and the finish is just what I wanted. Click for my how to
