How do you fit the K&N filter onto the pipe? The stupid fender cover in front of the wheel is making it biyatch to put the filter on... Not only that, the filter itself is a pain in the butt to put on the pipe. I know I drilled the right hole b/c I measured it with that paper that comes with the intructions!!!!!
Did anyone else have this problem? How did you compensate???

Ahhhh.... grasshoppa need more training.

You use the hose clamp to hold the filter onto the end of the tube.

Look at these pictures and take out the screws from the places if have noted. You'll have to shove the filter between the fender cover and attach it from there. Good luck...

Place Racing Hot Air Intake Pic here!

PR HAI... hehehe.

And while we're on the subject... help the man figure out how to stick the fuse box back on with the tube there. Cause we couldn't figure it out for the life of us.

Still awake?

Did you go to sleep also?

Nope, the filter doesn't touch the fender covers. Are you sure you cut the hole in the location specified by the template? Did you accidentally flip it upside-down?

The tube should go under the fuse box (on the driver's side). Just tighten the bolts and it'll move back into place. If you don't want the tube to rub against the fuse box, put weather striping in between.

Re: Still awake?

Are you seriously going to sleep? I thought you never slept...
Dam... Maybe I did cut the wrong hole or maybe cattman screwed me and sent me the wrong one.... I dunno.. I'm kinda ****ed. Spent about 6 hrs installing it(Most of the time drilling), Broke 2 screw holes on the MAF, & couldn't get the filter to fit.. If I drilled the wrong hole, What can I do to fix it? Drill one more hole that overlaps?

And you're telling me that the driver's side fuse box goes next to the tube? I couldn't follow your pics. Your filter seems to be very close to the foglight... Mine is touching the top of the fender cover...

You know there are different templates right? Did you use the 2000+ template? First, make sure you used the correct template. If you didn't, use the correct one and fix the hole. Make sure you match the little hole outlines to everything on your car.

The driver side fuse box goes over the tube... here are some pics of that: http://wwwcsif.cs.ucdavis.edu/~chin/...iles/cai3.html

The filter should not be touching anything besides the tube.
