hard "thunking" 2-1 down shifts in an auto 2k
poor mans search couldnt help me, so id like to know if someone else is experiencing this issue or if someone knows how to fix it.
in my gf's auto 2k im getting a very hard thunk when the car downshifts from second to first nearly everytime i come to a stop. it feels just like the 1-2 upshift on my level 2 vb.
ive checked the fluid level and the fluid was changed less than 10k miles ago
any help is appreciated
thanks

no, im not manually downshifting. this is occuring during normal driving when coming to a stop.
the drop resistor is an all or nothing device as i simply consists of a spring and would make all the upshifts horrible.
thanks for the ideas

yeah, it does that on my cousins honduh all the time..i always though that it was intentional, so that i could help you stop faster?? cuz the rpms usually rise from about 1400 to 2200...its a pretty drastic "thunk"...but i have no clue what it could be...

honestly havent watched the rpms on it yet, when i was driving it last week i was locking it into 2nd. would drive until it locked into second then come to a stop letting it downshift into first giving me the thunk.
i dont know how long its been doing it for since my gf only now noticed it a week after i drove the car and found it initially.

Check Motor Mounts
Hey, you might want to climb up under the car and check the motor mounts. I'd look for any sort of fluid leakage and also reach up and see if you can fit any fingers in where the motor mount is. That sounds similar to my 'thunking' when my last motor mount died FWIW.
