Crazy o2 sensor!
Crazy o2 sensor!
Do any of you go through this? SES light on for about two weeks then goes off for a week then comes back on for another 2-3 weeks then goes off again, only to find out your rear exhaust manifold 02 sensor is reading"slow response" or "high voltage"?
Is there a fix for this? I have been playing with the idea of grounding the 02 sensor to aleveate the "high voltage" issue. Or just replace the sucker and be done with it?

Your TSB is here.
Your ECU is receiving a signal from the O2 sensor behind the catalytic converter that is outside the acceptible range. This is due to one or more of the following:
1. Faulty ECU program
2. Faulty Sensor
3. Faulty Cat
Most likely it is 1 &/or 2, not 3. If you can get the dealer to perform the TSB under your emissions warranty, great. Otherwise, you need to decide whether to do the $300 fix or the $25 fix. $300 is having dealer flash ECU at your expense and replace sensor. $25 fix is buying an O2 sensor simulator.
Search the forums, this problem has been thoroughly discussed.
Thanks.
