I was going to work this morning and I get next to an Audi TT Quattro manual (he was sitting at the light with no brake lights on). I had noticed that they guy driving would leave the stop light quickly, so I decided that it would be a good match up for my Max. I got about a car length on him at the start and could not pull any distance on him. When we hit 60 he started catching up until I had a quarter car length at 85. We both had to slow down because of the traffic in front of us. The best part was that the guy was ecstatic that someone actually raced him!

What a good start to the morning!

I got taken by a Bmw 323

Though it was crappy driving on my part! The disadvantage of front wheel drive - it is far to easy when letting rip away from the lights, to spin the wheels rather than accelerate and that was the mistake I made - I did begin to catch up again once I had got the wheels under control.

wow

Good for you. Glad to hear you did so well. I thought the TT would be a little faster. I haven't had the opportunity to race one yet though. Have a great day!

Any questions ?
180 hp = good fight, more than likely what you tango'd with.
225 hp = off the line and if you can shift like a maddog you can fend him off, but eventually you will fall to the TT.

I didn't remember to look at the tailpipes to see what version it was. But I agree that it was most likely a 180 hp model. There is no way I could do this with a 225 hp TT!

Wow, I'm surprised you could hang with a TT. That car looks like its doing 120 when its standing still.

I've hung with a 180hp TT despite I wasn't in the mood to race and he just bolted on me, so I chased him down. The new 225hp model, from a start he got me bad, but once rolling 30-80 I beat him.
Depends on the driver I guess.

Chips n exhaust should help the TT too.. they also have turbo upgrades... lotsa aftermarket for the 1.8.

Yeah, it was a Quattro. I saw the Quattro badge on the rear end when I was pulling up next to him. BTW, it was an older version without the aerodynamic corrective spoiler so it looked killer!
