Shift ****

Hey Guys,

Will this **** fit on an automatic GLE?

This is the interior of my GLE, will the black one match if the wood grain one does not?

Will the wood match the fake wood grain inthe GLE?

I just bought a used 02 and the shift **** looks like crap. I have no idea how it got so worn out in 2 years?

I'm pretty sure it does... those ***** should come with a kit that has different size rings and whatnot for the various standard size shifters. But don't take my word for it, because I don't have an auto... although I do believe that's how shift ***** are sold.

I think the only concern would be if ya had a 6 speed because ya might be able to pull up the reverse lock ring, but I digress.

yeah, any manual **** will fit on the 02 shifter. it just untwists with some force. i dont THINK that **** will match tho, the wood on the **** is more red than the wood in the cars. at least, the wood in my black interior.

Maybe... but the lighting in those pictures are really different... I don't think that you can match colors based on pictures... where's no way to get the lighting exactly the same in order to tell... just my 2 cents....

To me, it looks like neither of em will match...

The ***** do come with different size rings to fit. I know MOMO comes with the right size because I put one on my car. I have seen people get close with matching the woodgrain but it won't be exact, should be close enough.

Wood in the GLE is darker than those. The black my be cool, but try to find one with brushed aluminum look than the straight out chrome. Also, do you want a hot a** chrome shifter is hot a** Houston? I would go for something a little less scalding. I am in Dallas and used to live in Houston. My .02

Now y'all have me thinking about *****... My shifter looks different than on 5.5 gens. mine is fat at the bottom with thumb shift. Then you shift by going straight down and not to the side.

I've been dwelling on this for a long time too... but I can't find anything that I like enough to stick on there... plus I have a 6 speed so my choices are limited because of the reverse lock ring... oh well, the search continues...

It is on there really tight. It isn't that big, it is actually smaller than the stock ****. It looks perfect. It does match well with the titanium inserts around the dash.

You can see how low it sits. And the **** doesn't sit as high as the stock.

Hey Guys,

Would the black one look funny with the beige interior? That is my main concern because there is very, very little black in my car. There is the actual radio, AC, and the trim ring around the shifter. I don't know what my other options will be since I don't have a gray interior like the guy who has the mom shifter in this picture. I mean should I find a parts store and ask the guy to let me try to color match. This is something I would imagine people would mostly buy online.

PS You all are all a bunch of nice guys, thanks for answering my questions and welcoming me to the board.

What about these?

The second one is called briar wood is that to what the fake wood in the GLE is suppose to be?

How would this work with a 00-01 Auto shifter...we have to depress the button to shift.

Are you taking the old shift **** off with the pipe wrench? What, exactly, holds it on? Is there a set screw as well?

Thanx...

It wouldn't... you'd have to get one with a button.... at least that's what I'd think....

I found out briar wood is a very bright orangelike wood. What about the mahogany ones?

Will the chrome look tacky?

Is this one just too crazy? I kind of liek the titanium color
